I love the song called "Hallelujah". Here is a link to playlist.com that I've been listening to lately.

I love the Leonard Cohen version. And the Jeff Buckley one. And the Rufus Wainwright one.
Also, I've been into Adele lately. I only know two of her songs (the most popular ones). Dave actually bought me her album for Christmas. It's a cd/dvd combo that actually just came out in November.
Rolling in the Deep
Here is her video on youtube

And "Someone Like You"
I absolutely love her voice.

And she is gorgeous, absolutely beautiful. She is not a super skinny girl, which is refreshing to see.

My Cat Daisey
We got Daisey on December 3, 2004. I'm not sure if there is an 'e' in her name or not, but once when we took her to the vet I think they had an 'e' in it and since then I put an 'e' in it. We got her from my brother's family, who had gotten her from his sister-in-law. They got rid of her for various understandable reasons. We got her so our cat Simon could have a "friend". They fought a lot, so I guess they were more like siblings than friends. We kept her inside for a few months but then I would let Daisey out of the house sometimes. One of the first times I let her out she didn't come back in. I was so scared. I drove around the neighborhood looking for her. When I got home she was there, I was so relieved.
We got her before we had kids. When our oldest was about 20 months old my husband and I went to Disneyland with my father-in-law and left my son with my sister. When we came back we only had one cat in the house, not two. Turns out that Daisey was not in the house when we left for our trip. We were driving away and realized we needed to feed the cats, and when we went back in she must have ran out, which we didn't know. Anyway, I went to the animal shelter and she was the last cat in the cages. A neighbor had called animal control and they picked her up.
Daisey could be very annoying. Just before we moved to Mapleton she had a "peeing on things in our house" issue. It was disgusting. After we moved I told Dave I couldn't handle her being an indoor cat. I didn't think we should put her outside because she is declawed in the front paws. But she is a street smart cat (that term will be ironic when this post is over). She did GREAT outside. We'd find birds and mice in our yard or on our patio. I'm so proud when our cats actually DO cat things.
She'd try to come in our house but I'd never let her. She did get in last Saturday when Dave lit our fist fire in our new wood burning stove. That is an entire different post for a later day.
To get to the point of this post... on Tuesday my son went out the front door and said, "mom, there is a dead cat on the road. I think it is our cat." He left and I went to see the dead cat, obviously it had been hit by a car. It did look like Daisey. When I was about 6 feet away I thought, "Oh, that isn't her." But then as I got closer and could see her face I knew it was her. Our sweet, annoying Daisey was hit by a car and is no longer with us. Dave buried her in our field. I just gently pushed her to the side of the road and Dave took care of her when he got home. I didn't know if I should take her right then or not. But it was actually kind of like closure to me to be able to look at her from our front window throughout the day. It was also a good time to discuss with my kids how spirits and bodies separate at death. We sat on the couch and could see Daisey across the street. I did the whold glove/body, hand/spirit lesson with them. The kids took it surprisingly well. Matthew almost cried for a split second and that is all. I did actually cry. And I cared more than I thought I would. RIP Daisey, I love you.

My cousins married each other.
http://hopeforsarah.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
My cousin Sarah has cancer. I have posted about her before, but I thought I'd put a link up to her blog anyway. I was just reading some of her older posts and this one stuck out. It is about when she started chemo and her hair was falling out. Sarah cousin is amazing.
She is my cousin on my mom's side and she married my cousin on my dad's side. So THEY are not cousins, but they are both mine.

Delicious breakfast
I made the best omelet the other day. It's kind of an omelet, but maybe it's just scrambled eggs with stuff in it. I guess I don't know the technical definition of omelet. I saute about a 1/2 cup mushrooms and a yellow chili pepper (minus the seeds)in a pan. I added a tiny bit of olive oil. Then whisk in a bowl one egg and another egg white (and about 1/4 cup skim milk). Put egg mixture in pan. Add one wedge laughing cow cheese. Mine is flavored, but I forgot which kind and I'm too lazy to go check. I think it is chipotle or something. Then just stir until eggs are cooked and cheese is melted. It is really good. Healthy, too.

My friend Jennifer
A friend of mine is trying to adopt a baby. She and her husband have been married for 3 years and struggle with infertility, which I didn't know. I actually haven't seen her or talked with her for a while, but they are contacting everyone they know to get the word out. I served with her in my single ward's Relief Society presidency. She was amazing, and I'm sure she still is. Words I'd use to describe Jennifer are: strong, dedicated, determined, fun, beautiful, sincere, caring, and smart.

Motivation
What will motivate me to lose weight? I decided something just a minute ago. I'm going to inform my husband (not ask) that when I get to my goal weight we are getting new counter tops. (To my friend EBN, don't you think I "deserve" this knowing what my dear husband did without asking me? And I didn't even get that mad). Could take years, or months. I guess it depends on what I set as my goal weight. Snicker snicker. Mmmmmm......candy bars...

People have different themed blogs that they like to read: craft blogs, sewing blogs, reading blogs, family and friend blogs, etc. My family doesn't keep up on their blogs (the few that have them) so I have to find other people to stalk. I now know what kind of blogs that I love reading. Losing weight blogs. Blogs where women share their successes and failures of living a healthier life. Today I was looking at some and then I checked one of the ladies on facebook and she posted a link to this:
http://thesnydertwins.com/
It's a blog about a woman who died after giving birth to her healthy twins on the day after Thanksgiving. The pictures are so sad. The dad bare chested holding his new babies skin to skin, something their mom was no longer there to do. There is one picture of a woman bending down laying one twin next to the other and in the background it looks like the father is sobbing with his hand up to his face.
What a difficult spectrum of emotions: elation on the birth of your children, and devastation in the loss of your spouse. There is a sadness in the eyes of almost all the people in the pictures. The twins are beautiful and perfect.

Have you ever heard of the BeehiveBazaar? It is a kind of craft fair of cool homemade items. My friend Eve will have a display there and has been working hard making some fun things to sell. It used to be in Provo near the Veterans swimming pool just off 500 West and 500 North. Now it is in the old Provo Los Hermanos building.

I've heard a few songs recently on the radio. This is huge because I'm a talk radio kind of girl and rarely hear new music. Anyway, about the songs I've heard... they were from a woman with an amazing voice. Actually, the first song I heard was at my zumba class. Now I haven't gone to zumba for a VERY long time. But I thought it was not really a song fit for the class, but it wasn't bad. But the singer's voice was amazing. And then I heard the song again on the radio. And another song that sounded like the same voice. It's Adele. Have you heard her songs? I love them. In fact, maybe I'll ask Santa for her album for Christmas. Do people still buy cds anymore?
I love the song "Someone like you" and "Rolling in the deep". The rolling in the deep song was played in my zumba class, which I love.
