Funny blog

My cousin had this blog address on her blog. It pokes fun at Mormon girls' blogs. Pretty cheesy and over the top, but also hilarious. Check it out!

Checking out at the store

Tonight I went to the store. As I was waiting in line I was thinking, "I still have 6 weeks left(until the baby comes)." Just then the man behind me said, "how long do you have left?" I laughed and said, "6 weeks." I really have 7 weeks left, but will have the baby a week early. I said, "I am big, huh?" And he (not in a kind or gentle way at all) said, "Yeah, my wife never got that big with any of our three kids." I just smiled and replied, "lucky girl!" Inside I was thinking, "jerk. He may be right, but does he really have to be so honest with a stranger?" When I got home I thought of a response, "was your wife ever pregnant with quadruplets?" Then he might feel stupid, and I am not saying that I am pregnant with quadruplets (because I might be tempted to lie). I have decided that if someone asks me how much longer I will say, "until what?"

Today I said to Matthew, "are you my cutie-patootie?" Just a cute little rhyming phrase. And he replied, "I am not a tootie!"

Snow White

My husband took the princess quiz as if he were me, and he got this result.

Pure and trusting. You are a gentle soul who can get along with just about anyone. Everyone you meet instantly falls in love with you. How can they resist? You have a pure, lovable nature that's irresistable. Just don't trust everyone who comes across your path.

Princess

A friend had this on her blog, and I decided to try it on the advice of another friend. I don't think it is very accurate. People who really know me probably know that I am generally not soft-spoken. It is a very short quiz, so for those who are interested in doing it, it will not take up much time.

Dignified and hard working. With a gentle and soft-spoken manner you have something many people don't. Patience. Even through the moments of heartbreak you're still able to hold onto all of your hopes and dreams. Bide your time; your dream will come true.

Festivities

I am not sure why Dave is making that face. Is it that his neck hurts? Maybe Matthew's diaper stinks. Perhaps he is too emotional to look at the balloons. I think it is because his wife made him get up at 6:10 in the morning.

This is a picture of my pregnant belly during the last week or two. I am much bigger than this picture shows. You may be thinking, "you look plenty big in this picture." You'd be wrong. I am much bigger in real life.

We hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July. We went to see the hot air balloons on the field just east of UVRMC. Unfortunately, we got there just as they were taking off. In past years we've been there to see them prepping the balloons and to watch them be inflated. After the balloons Matthew and I went to my parents' house who were hosting a singles ward breakfast. That afternoon we went to Dave's dad's house and had lunch, then that evening we topped off the day with a bbq at my parents' house followed by fireworks. Here are some pictures of the long day. Also, kudos to Dave who worked on my car, his car, his motorcycle, and his trailer all on Independence Day!! Woohoo for my husband!

This week Matthew fed the cats for the first time. I didn't even ask him to do it. He just said, "I'm feeding the cats," and he just did it!

As I was typing this, Matthew said, "I want to eat the fish!" I was shocked and I asked, "you want to eat the fish?" He gave me a very grave look and I said, "do you want to feed the fish?" And sure enough, that is what he wanted. He has never expressed any interest in eating any of our pets before.

I was just released as the RS secretary and put in as the ward activities chairman. I will insist they refer to me as the chairperson, chairwoman, or just plain chair. But not really. I am excited, but very nervous.
